What is Strawboard?

Due to its texture, it is also called “passepartout,” and it is not only used for models but also to separate photos or prints from glass (framing) and even for watercolor painting.Strawboard is a material made of several superimposed layers of paper, based on virgin fiber or recycled paper. Cardboard is thicker, harder, and more resistant than paper. Some types of cardboard are used to manufacture packaging and containers, mainly various types of boxes. The top layer can receive a different finish called “stucco” which gives it a more attractive appearance.
